I’m fundraising to support Sand Dams Worldwide, an organisation helping communities in some of the world’s driest regions gain lifelong access to clean water and sustainable food. In September 2026, I’ll be travelling to southeast Kenya with Barclays to work alongside a local self‑help group as we build a sand dam together.

Across drylands, women and children often walk 6–12 hours every day to collect water, usually from unsafe sources. Climate change is making this even harder, with droughts becoming more frequent and severe. Sand dams offer a powerful, long-term solution: they harvest rainwater naturally, store it safely within sand, and can provide up to 40 million litres of clean, year‑round water for more than 1,000 people — for over 60 years.

These dams also restore the environment, raise groundwater levels, and help families grow enough food through climate‑smart farming. By supporting my fundraising, you’re helping communities build resilience, improve their livelihoods, and create a healthier, more secure future.
