I have always admired Jimmy and Alastair, who were born and raised in Africa, in their commitment to recognise, value and support the African communities they grew up in and love, by giving back through their business and charity projects. I am honoured to be joining them and Sand Dams Worldwide in this life-changing project to build a sand dam.

A sand dam is a simple but transformative concept for rural communities living in the African drylands. Sand dams are a low-cost, sustainable and reliable source of clean water. With access to water, communities can engage in sustainable agriculture, grow food and improve their nutrition, which helps break the cycle of poverty. Sand dams promote community empowerment enabling them to manage their resources and work towards self-sufficiency and resilience against climate change. Teresa Cameron
