Amjid's fundraising for Mum - Kenya Sand Dam Expedition – Sept 2026 Donate I am raising charity in memory of my late mother, Aziz Begum, who passed away in 2025, as well as in the name of my late father Bashir Ahmed and my late brother Abid Bashir, who died at the age of 45 after being diagnosed with cancer just six weeks earlier. These funds will support the construction of sand dams in Kenya. Providing water is considered a great act of charity because it directly saves lives, benefits everyone, and provides ongoing reward. Water is essential for health and survival, agriculture, livestock, and according to many beliefs the best charity is providing water. These simple structures have a powerful impact, providing clean water and supporting health, food security, and hope for the future. I will be travelling to Kenya with work colleagues for Sand Dams Worldwide to help build sand dams that offer sustainable water sources for communities. These dams store seasonal rainwater under the sand, helping reduce drought effects and improve access to clean water. This project supports long-term resilience and empowers local communities to address water scarcity. Funds raised will be matched funded by my employer so if you donate £20 then £20 will be added, by my employer, to the fund pot making a total contribution to £40. No amount is too small. Thank you for your generosity. Amjid Bashir Manage Cookie Preferences
